About

banne_about The 2018 edition will take place on June 21, 22, 23 and 24. The Imagination Festival – Kinnernet-Europe, is a wild out of the box, irreverent, bottom-up innovation, creativity and cultural unconference created in 2013.

The festival gathers each year 200 innovators and some of the most interesting people working in the media, art, technology or creative industries (science, business, technology, media, education, art, environment, social) and geographies (US, Europe, Israel and Asia). Our mission : meet, share our visions and invent desirable futures together. The  festival mixes in depth conversations, debates, workshops, but also creative and artistics moments. All participants are equal and contributors and set up the programme by posting the topics on their minds on large wiki-boards. As a network of contributive people, the Festival has the ambition to create and develop each year innovative and contributive projects.

Co-hosted by Yossi Vardi and Marc Goldberg, the festival is inspired by the Kinnernet unconference created in Israël in 2003 by Yossi, one of the major figures of the innovation eco-system in.

We have created a unique global and diverse community of innovators that challenges conventional thinking, identifies new forms of creativity, and starts global conversations to foster desirable futures. The beauty of Kinnernet Europe is its vision of people, and thought leadership with no commercial agenda, beyond generating, spreading and turning into action great ideas that can bring the best people together.

We have designed  the 10 Kinnernet Europe Principles to structure how we behave in Avallon during the unconference and to guide the culture that we are creating within the Kinnernet community:
1 We all share a sense of civic responsibility to foster desirable futures
2 Immediacy (It’s happening here and now)
3 Radical participation (everybody contributes)
4 Radical self-expression (the event is your stage)
5 Have some sense of humour (or play to pretend that you do)
6 Kindness (practice kindness for 72 hours)
7 Listen, reflect, respect (don’t suck all the air)
8 Radical self-reliance (take care of yourself)
9 Leave no trace (respect the environment and the people hosting you)
10 Live beyond the event (there are many Kinnernet events and It’s not about being re-invited but about what you will do with the community…)

I’ve been reporting on lifestyle trends since 2004 while in the branding and storytelling industry and only here I’m sure we have a lot to talk about. However, I’d prefer if we dig deeper into the web of change, especially from a values and sociological perspective. Yet, what gets me going even more at this point is more within the realms of anthropology - shamanism and particularly shamanic states of consciousness, raising energetic levels beyond the ordinary. In my work life, I’m pretty good at grinding down highly complex brands into meaningful simplicity where organisation, ownership structures and/or wide scopes pose a major challenge to coherence and a common sense of purpose. I’ve done this with nations and several organisations with up to 24 000 employees.

Manoella Buffara
Manoella Buffara
Manoella Buffara

I’m a chef from Paraná, Brazil. My only "son" is the Manu restaurant in Curitiba, and it is here that I cooks experiments with naturally Brazilian products, mostly from the region of Paraná. My products are carefully selected. Good taste and sophistication are keywords in my productions. The care and handling with the inputs is strict, for me, every detail counts. Urban garden and Manu Buffara Manu Buffara could not resist. Cried Before hundreds of people, when asked to talk about healthy eating, at the lunch that promoted on Sunday (24), in the Horta of Rio Bonito, in Campo de Santana, outskirts of Curitiba. She gets emotional even when she realizes that people around her are aware of what she says, about the best way to eat and enjoy food. And there were hundreds, all from the local community, from active families in the day-to-day community garden there - and a few others who came to see what was happening and stayed there, delighted by the good food and the proposal served. Lunch was her initiative, which dealt with everything from the meat (ribs) donated by organic producers - which she baked from yesterday, in her own restaurant - to the different draft of one of the many artisan producers in the surroundings of the city. He also made the pita bread, which he roasted at one of the barbecue grills installed on the spot. The mayonnaise had the beet root of the own vegetable garden, harvested at the time, as well as all the leaves that composed the salad that accompanied the meat in the bread. The lunch cost R $ 5 per dish, plus the same for the beer and all income was reversed in favor of the Association of Residents of Rio Bonito, which, through its president, Delso Moretti, manages and manages the urban vegetable garden that integrates the program of the Municipal Secretariat of Agriculture and Supply of the Municipality of Curitiba. Manu does an admirable job there, as admirable is practically everything that is around him. When the idea of launching the Chef's Horta project came up earlier this year, she was the first to join. More than that: it has practically become the leader of all, to suggest prices, values, form of harvest and other points to be observed. Chef's Vegetable Garden The urban vegetable garden had been around for quite some time, since 2011, Chef began to take over the work in 2013, but in 2016 she started bringing other chefs, cooks to a project drafted by her and the Department of Supply. The production was too large for the small local demand, since the consumption was practically of the relatives and friendly near the hortairs. The idea of joining the production tip with the outlet end, the restaurants, allowed the cooks to approach and practically interact with the producers, suggesting items to be planted and choosing the best time to harvest. Only with the contribution of the chefs in the purchase of the products, the association has already collected enough to guarantee more inputs for new plantations. Except that Manu Buffara could just pop in there, pick up the greens of desire, and leave. But she could not help herself, she wanted more. I wanted to teach the local villager the best way to enjoy every vegetable or vegetable. The stem of it, the leaf of the other, to the flower and the bark of some, why not? Then came the idea of promoting this lunch, which filled with emotion the Sunday in the garden. She and all those present who have felt how passionate she is for what she does and what is not for free the international recognition she has been getting in recent years since her restaurant was elected by two different publications (Quatro Rodas e Prazeres da Mesa ) as the best in Brazil, thereby opening the borders of the world. Manu Buffara is very big, for what he is and for what he does. Unfortunately, it just does not have the proper return in the city where it built all this pillar of success, since 75% of the visitors to its restaurant, the Manu, are customers from other cities. But one day she will certainly still have the same recognition among us. Who cooks with so much feeling and passes so much emotion thus to tell and to teach what it does, always deserves the best. Journalist: Luiz Augusto Xavier Besides being a journalist, he was part of the Chef project in 2016 and 2017, as a volunteer.

I am part of a group of people envisioning and co-creating a new level of Integrated Cooperation, one that invites us to show up, design, improvise and learn together. We are asking each other to pause, absorb and internalize the painful reality of how our current siloed and unconscious drives are leading us toward an unsustainable future. We believe this moment is asking something new and outrageous from all of us: to embark on an uncharted path, filled with complex and moving variables, while supporting and caring for each other as we face the emotional, relational, economic, environmental and social challenges we are immersed in. As we remain steadfast, keeping our hearts on our values and our eyes on our vision, every situation, feeling, thought, and action becomes a mutual teaching moment and an integral part of our transformation.

As an executive private chef, I spend my week creating cuisine inspired by the seasonal harvest in the San Francisco Bay Area and Napa Valley wine region of Northern California. My daily goals focus on transforming organic meats, poultry, seafood, fruits, vegetables, and grains into pleasing meals for those who consume the work of my knives and my knowledge of fire. The sound of “yum” filling my ears is one of my greatest job rewards. Being a conduit that brings people together to share a meal is another. Sourcing the freshest and most sustainable ingredients and supporting the local economy of farmers, ranchers, fisherman and other specialty purveyors is always my priority. My cooking style is heavily influenced by my two years of full-time study at the Culinary Institute of America at Greystone in the Napa Valley AVA, California.

As a starving engineer, I have dedicated my adult life to helping starving artists use technology to further their creative visions. Much of this has shown at Burning Man over the years including Marco Cochrane's Bliss Dance, Peter Hudson's Charon, The Windmill Factory's Pixel Forest, Robert Bose's Balloon Chain, and Aaron Taylor Kuffner's Gamelatron inside two temples. In recent years, the artists and projects that we support extend well beyond Burning Man and as such, some of our artist clientele are not as starving anymore. The Everbright wall - a giant redux of the childhood LiteBrite toy - by Alan Rory of Hero Design is a shining example of what we do. See www.everbright.io for a project that we enabled with affordable technology that scales. Next steps include a move to NYC to pursue artistic uses of VR and further work with existing and new clientele alike.
