About

banne_about The 2023 edition will take place on June 22nd, 23rd, 24th and 25th. The Imagination Festival – Kinnernet-Europe, is a wild out of the box, irreverent, bottom-up innovation, creativity and cultural unconference created in 2013.

The festival gathers each year 200 innovators and some of the most interesting people working in the media, art, technology or creative industries (science, business, technology, media, education, art, environment, social) and geographies (US, Europe, Israel and Asia). Our mission : meet, share our visions and invent desirable futures together. The  festival mixes in depth conversations, debates, workshops, but also creative and artistics moments. All participants are equal and contributors and set up the programme by posting the topics on their minds on large wiki-boards. As a network of contributive people, the Festival has the ambition to create and develop each year innovative and contributive projects.

Co-hosted by Yossi Vardi and Marc Goldberg, the festival is inspired by the Kinnernet unconference created in Israël in 2003 by Yossi, one of the major figures of the innovation eco-system in.

We have created a unique global and diverse community of innovators that challenges conventional thinking, identifies new forms of creativity, and starts global conversations to foster desirable futures. The beauty of Kinnernet Europe is its vision of people, and thought leadership with no commercial agenda, beyond generating, spreading and turning into action great ideas that can bring the best people together.

We have designed the 10 Kinnernet Europe Principles to structure how we behave in Avallon during the unconference and to guide the culture that we are creating within the Kinnernet community:
1 We all share a sense of civic responsibility to foster desirable futures
2 Immediacy (It’s happening here and now)
3 Radical participation (everybody contributes)
4 Radical self-expression (the event is your stage)
5 Have some sense of humour (or play to pretend that you do)
6 Kindness (practice kindness for 72 hours)
7 Listen, reflect, respect (don’t suck all the air)
8 Radical self-reliance (take care of yourself)
9 Leave no trace (respect the environment and the people hosting you)
10 Live beyond the event (there are many Kinnernet events and It’s not about being re-invited but about what you will do with the community…)

Kim is a multi-potential Designer and an entrepreneur. He is coming from an eclectic academic background combining sciences, arts, economics, marketing and... hacker spaces where he fell in love with Design and software engineering in the 2000's. He plays by many roles: recently leading Design for hydrogen infrastructures at Hopium, a french hydrogen vehicule startup, he has also co-founded the NGO OneHome with the mathematician and novelist Jean-Pierre Goux, which produces actual real Earth videos from NASA material, promoting planetary consciousness by bringing the Overview Effect to the greatest number. In 2020, he created Good Galaxy, a company designing new kind of tools for regenerative agriculture. From time to time, he is also teaching Design to school kids, engineering students, institutionals and business schools students (Telecom Paristech, Polytechnique Paris Institute, HEC, the Institute of Desirable Futures, Sup de Pub...). During his years at Air Liquide, Kim grew a taste for planetary challenges, pushing Design into the strategy of a non-Design compliant global industrial company. He started with innovation projects to disrupt the group itself, then embraced broader topics such as air quality, industry 4.0, the future of agriculture, digitalization of healthcare, hydrogen mobility, the future of cities in partnership with Vinci group and so on… His progress inside Air Liquide group, from designing at the i-Lab to the co-founding of the Digital Factory, led him to turn into an active advocate of Design for desirable futures, advising industrial leaders and entrepreneurs.

I believe in using business as a force for good. I am an award-winning entrepreneur and ethical investment champion who left the Corporate world to become a serial impact entrepreneur. I am driven by the desire to contribute to a world world where all businesses marry profit and purpose and inject optimism, curiosity and adaptability into everything I do. The roots of my work promote the spirit of entrepreneurship, the ability to navigate uncertainty and meaningful collaboration. These roots are increasingly fed by the constant wonders of learning from the systems of nature, to inspire better ways of working. In a world where increased uncertainty is the only certainty, we have a unique opportunity to see that the world is constantly evolving, not predictable; and our emotional reaction to this monumental shift can be fear, but can also be hope. I see hope as an active, moral choice which we can all cultivate. , I help purpose-driven leaders grow their companies - and associated positive impact - more easily through practical tools, complementary collaborations and the learned confidence to adapt in new ways to the growing challenges of a fast changing world.. Their ability to thrive in adversity means their hope of contributing to a better world through business is translated into a tangible reality.

Taiye Selasi

Taiye Selasi is, among other lesser things, a storyteller. Born in the UK, raised in the US, educated at Yale and Oxford, Selasi is spectacularly inept at answering the question 'Where are you from?' Instead she's devoted her post-academy recovery to publishing novels, giving TED talks, creating television series, mastering vegan cooking and inventing terms. Two of the latter — 'Afropolitan' and 'Multi-Local' — have touched the lives of millions of people. A storyteller can ask for no more.

I am a strategy scholar specialising in quantitative research of business ethics and corporate social responsibility at London Business School, with an emphasis on socio-political strategies. My research seeks to help stakeholders understand what drives bad behaviour in firms, and by firms so that the conditions leading to potential costly organizational misconduct can be avoided. I research a wide variety of settings ranging from stock option backdating and financial restatements, to student plagiarism violence in professional sports and violations of health standards in elderly care-homes. In a related research stream I examine how, in a politically polarized world, social mobilisation to support diversity, environmental sustainability and labour safety can in fact push some firms to pollute, discriminate and abuse labour even more. Before joining Academia, I served as the domestic policy advisor for FMP Benjamin Netanyahu (2005-2007) and the heads of the Economics and Government Oversight Committees in Israel.

Diana Saliceti is a singer and journalist from Corsica, a little island in the Mediterranean sea. She writes and composes her songs in her native language which is Corsican but in English or French too. She made a first album in a really old house in the island’s mountains but she also had the opportunity to live in Ireland, Spain, Quebec, New York and Paris. She loves making her culture to travel, she loves meeting people and she enjoys experiences of sharing and humanism. To her, being a part of a vanishing world and saving what is the most important is necessary to build tomorrow’s. Diana is deeply rooted in her ancestors’ land but she’s building bridges on the circumferences of the Mediterranean Sea. That is why we find in her voice airs of Italian tarantellae, Portuguese fado or African incantations. It is nevertheless from the traditional polyphonic Corsican singing that she drew her love of music.
