I am a Data Scientist/Developer/Innovator with a Ph.D. in quantum physics. I want to apply my creativity, advanced mathematics and full-stack coding skills to make AI/ML improve the world. In my present position at BOLD I report directly to the CEO, ideating and prototyping algorithms and applications beyond the company’s regular scope. I believe that we can enter a new economic era by using AI/ML for leveraging peoples unique combinations of traits so that they become more valuable to each other. Among my many interests is the similarities between natural language and quantum physics, such as superposition (e.g. Schrödinger’s Cat: the word « Jaguar » is a cat AND a car at the same time until someone ‘opens the lid’ and observes it in context), and I like applying physics thinking when I design natural language technology. My physics background is a combination of computational physics and spectroscopy, which both are applicable in data science. I’m a Co-founder of i4j Innovation for Jobs, alongside Vint Cerf. I served as Executive Director from 2011 to 2021, when the leadership of i4j was taken over by Guido van Nispen. I co-edited the i4j anthology ‘The People-Centered Economy’ and wrote the first chapter, presenting a model for a people-centered economy. With the introduction of Large Language Models, the required technology for this vision now exists, making it a tangible reality. Above all, I am a builder, and when I am not building prototypes at work I build road bikes, grow hops, brew beer, bake sourdough and many other things.
