Joana Seguro is an independent curator working in art and technology, with a growing interest and strong track record in linking disparate fields across art forms and disciplines. Projects range from conceiving, producing and developing her own events and exhibitions to curating international festivals, artist management, producing tours and one-off projects. Since 2001 working independently she has pursued partnerships with some of the major cultural institutions active in contemporary arts in the UK and Internationally. She regularly advises organisations of including PRS Foundation and the Paul Hamlyn Foundation amongst others. In 2006 she completed a Wellcome Trust funded Clore Leadership Fellowship on Arts Leadership. Joana was also Sound Producer for BAC/Punchdrunk¹s The Masque of Red Death, Culture Tutor of the IDE department at the Royal College of Art and executive producer for The Longplayer Trust and Music Curator of EVENTO-Bordeaux’s Art, Architecture Biennial and Deloitte:Ignite Just Tell The Truth Festival at Royal Opera House curated by Mike Figgis, Serpentine Gallery working on the Yoko Ono Into The Light Smile Installation. On a role with The Vinyl Factory, producing and curating all projects at Brewer Street Car Park in London, she worked with Bill Viola, Carsten Nicolai, Ryoji Ikeda, Ragnar Kjartansson and Doug Aitken. Her latest project was as Curator for the opening programme of Lisbon new cultural space MAAT – Museum of Art Architecture and Technology.
